Great value for a student

As a student, I was looking for something affordable but still professional. I found Arc Studio Pro and used their student discount, which made the annual plan very reasonably priced. It felt like a really good deal compared to other options. The features like the outlining tool and script formatting are fantastic. I felt like I got a lot for my money, and it's definitely worth the investment for my film classes.

Good for collaboration, some small issues

I bought the Arc Studio Pro annual plan for a project with a writing partner. The real-time collaboration feature was excellent and really smoothed out our workflow. It was easy to import our old Final Draft files, which was a huge plus. My only minor gripe was the mobile app; it's functional for quick edits but felt a bit clunky for longer writing sessions. Overall, a solid value for the price, especially with the annual discount, but I hope they refine the mobile experience more.

Absolutely loving Arc Studio Pro

Arc Studio Pro is amazing! I got the annual plan, and it's been a game changer for my writing. The dark mode writing is so good, and the script versioning saved me a few times already. Definitely shopping here again!

Seamless switch from old software

I switched to Arc Studio Pro from another screenwriting program a few weeks ago and it's been a mostly positive experience. Ordering the annual subscription was straightforward on their website. I had a quick question about importing a specific file type, and their support team responded within a few hours with clear instructions, which I appreciated. The software itself is very clean, the distraction-free writing mode is a godsend, and the automated backups gave me peace of mind. I've used both the desktop app on my Mac and the mobile app on my iPad, and they sync perfectly. The outlining tool is intuitive, making it easy to structure my story before diving into scriptwriting. The PDF export also worked flawlessly, producing a professional-looking script. I even tried the writers room collaboration briefly and it functioned exactly as advertised. It's a well-designed tool.

Is Arc Studio any good for actual production stuff, like tracking revisions or does it mostly just do the writing part?

J Julia E. 2 months ago
It's pretty solid for that. You can track revisions and it has production features too, like scene navigation and comments for feedback. I use it with my writing partner for notes.

Yeah, it's not just a fancy word processor. The revision tracking is super helpful for keeping tabs on changes, especially with multiple people working on something.

What's the deal with the free version? Is it actually usable for a whole script or just like a demo?

S Sam A. 2 months ago
It's not just a demo, you can totally write a full script on it. You just miss out on some of the more advanced features like real-time collaboration or importing Final Draft files.

I started with the free one and finished a short script. It's perfectly fine for getting your ideas down and formatting. You only really need Pro if you're collaborating or want the fancy extras.

Hey, I'm a student. Do they have any kind of discount for us?

M Megan 2 months ago
Absolutely! They have a pretty good student discount, just gotta verify your student status. Saves a decent chunk of change.

Yup, checked that out when I signed up. I think it's like 30-50% off if you're verified. Worth doing for sure.

Thinking of switching from Final Draft to this, anyone got experience with Arc Studio's import feature? Don't wanna lose all my old scripts.

S Sophie 3 months ago
Yeah, it pulls in FDX files pretty smoothly. I imported like 5 scripts when I switched last year and didn't have any issues with formatting getting messed up.

It's decent. I had a couple of minor tweaks to make on one script, mostly just line breaks, but nothing major. Way better than reformatting everything from scratch.
